Rotary Switches need extra protection because of their particular designץ It consists of a rotor spindle with a ‘spoke’ protruding from it. There’s also an array of terminals arranged in a circular manner around the switch; these function to make contact with the ‘spoke’ via electric circuits linked to the rotor. These sensitive switches need extra care and protection to ensure that they keep in proper working order, reducing the likelihood of equipment mal-function.
